About

Why Tagaroo exists.

Annotation is where research quality is actually decided — and it is still mostly done with highlighters, spreadsheets, and heroic patience. Tagaroo was built on a simple bet: an AI agent can do the exhausting first pass over transcripts, text, and images, while the researcher keeps every judgment call. The result is labeled data that is faster to produce and easier to defend, because every rating carries its evidence and rationale with it.

The product grew out of clinical interview annotation — rating scales like the PHQ-9 or HAM-D applied to real conversations — and widened into a workspace for any structured labeling task: coding schemes, custom codebooks, image regions, multi-annotator studies with inter-rater reliability built in.
