Terms of Service

1. The Service

Tagaroo is a software-as-a-service tool for annotating interview transcripts, text, and images — manually and with AI assistance. Features, plans, and limits are described at tagaroo.ai/pricing and may evolve over time. You need an account with a valid email address to use the Service, and you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. You must be at least 18 years old.

2. Your content and your responsibilities

You retain all rights to the content you upload (transcripts, images, annotation schemes, results). You grant us the limited license needed to store and process that content solely to provide the Service to you. We do not sell your content and we do not use it to train machine-learning models.

Do not upload directly identifiable personal or patient data. You must de-identify transcripts and images (remove names, dates of birth, addresses, record numbers, faces, and other identifiers) before uploading. You are responsible for having the legal basis, consents, and — for research — ethics/IRB approvals required to process the content you upload.

You agree not to misuse the Service: no unlawful content, no attempts to breach security or rate limits, no reselling of the Service, and no automated scraping outside the documented API.

3. AI-generated output

AI annotations are machine-generated suggestions produced by large-language and vision models. They can be incomplete or wrong. They are provided for research and documentation support only: the Service is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice or diagnosis, and must not be used as the sole basis for clinical decisions. A qualified human must review AI output before any consequential use.

4. Plans, credits, and payment

Paid subscriptions and credit packs are sold by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, which handles payment, applicable taxes (e.g. VAT), and invoices. Current pricing is shown at /pricing. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. AI usage consumes credits as described on the pricing page; monthly grant credits reset each billing period and do not accumulate unless stated otherwise. For refund requests, contact support@tagaroo.ai — statutory consumer rights under EU law are not affected.

5. Availability and changes

We aim for high availability but the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may change or discontinue features with reasonable notice for material changes. We may update these terms; continued use after an update constitutes acceptance, and we will notify account holders of significant changes by email or in-app notice.

6. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of data caused by your breach of Section 2, or decisions made in reliance on AI output contrary to Section 3. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

7. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from the account page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these terms. Upon deletion, your content is removed from production systems within 30 days (backup copies expire on their normal cycle).

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Disputes are subject to the courts of Spain, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence. For privacy matters, see our Privacy Policy.
